Last week, Freshney Place were delighted to host the launch of the Community Hub, a free space for local groups, charities and organisations to meet for workshops, meetings and more. The Hub is also available for commercial businesses to hire for a small donation to our charities.
Representatives from the Hub partners were invited to attend the launch to become more familiar with the space, discuss opportunities and observe the town Mayor, Hazel Chase officially open the Community Hub.
The launch was a tremendous success, with feedback from several organisations praising the Community Hub:
“We think the space is amazing and it will meet the different needs of many community groups.” – Elaine Atkinson, Grimsby in Bloom
“It is fantastic to be part of the Community Hub which will enable small charities like ours to accommodate more social activities, volunteer recruitment and Dementia services at a central location that is welcoming, spacious and well equipped. The Launch enabled FaH to meet the people behind the great work that has gone into getting this unit ready for community use and other organisations that will be using the unit too.” – Lyse Stephenson, Friendship at Home
“A great space for a variety of community activities.” – Lawrence Dunn, Lincs Inspire

Youngsters around Grimsby were invited to attend a free artistic crafting event at Freshney Place on Saturday 30th of March, between 11am and 3pm in the Market Square, near Starbucks.
Children were able to use their imagination as they personalised a terracotta plant pot with stickers and felt tips to create a meaningful message for their mum. They could even show off their expressive skills by drawing her favourite flowers, adding her name and more… the possibilities were endless!
The free crafting event blossomed into a nature loving activity as the youngsters were able to pot their own plant in their wonderful DIY creation; something really special to gift to their mums this Mother’s Day.
Thank you so much to everyone who attended the event! It was great to see the children come along and express themselves through arts and crafts.
