Freshney Place wins a Green ApplePosted: Monday 17th December
We are delighted to announce that Freshney Place has received national recognition for its commitment to green and environmentally friendly practices, winning a Green Apple Environment Award in Environmental Best Practice in the retail and wholesale category.
The award comes during Freshney Place’s year-long Green Grimsby campaign, which aims to highlight the town’s reputation as the renewable energy capital of the UK and drive greater awareness of environmental concerns, including sustainability and a greener approach to a multi-tenanted and community used building.
The win came hot on the heels of another success for our green credentials when we achieved the ‘Green’ level accreditation from Investors in the Environment (iiE)-the highest level available.
The Green Apple Awards, organised by The Green Organisation have become have become well established as one of the most popular environmental campaigns in the world, recognising environmental endeavour amongst companies, councils, communities and countries. iiE’s Green level accreditation is the highest possible in their scheme and comes in recognition of the centre’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and improving environmental performance.
Amanda Austin our centre manager said: “The entire team at Freshney Place is to be given credit for their efforts as they have kept environmental issues high on the agenda. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and these awards recognise the extensive efforts that we as a business go towards making it happen. This is undoubtedly an ongoing initiative for Freshney Place and something that we will continue to pursue, monitoring our resource usage and implementing improved strategies where possible.
